About Sarah

After graduating in Fine Art and Design from her homeland, Scotland, Sarah began her professional career designing and managing concept brasserie cafes and bars in Edinburgh. She then moved South to join a Knightsbridge firm of architects, Michael Lyell Associates as Project Designer responsible for the interior restoration and refurbishment of various conservation projects and Grade 1 and 11 listed buildings within Grosvenor Estates, English Heritage and abroad. She spent ten years at Michael Lyell gaining international interior design and project management experience in government properties and private residences in London, Moscow, Paris, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.
Before returning to the UK, Sarah was based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates leaving her indelible design mark on the explosion of the Middle East’s new build development in private villas, hotel suites, public areas, restaurants, private clubs and exclusive bars. She returned home to the UK in 1999 to consider more localised private commissions, in particular the restoration and renovation of traditional Lakeland properties alongside the fresh excitement of new-build development, specification and project management.
Sarah Jane has an enviable eye for design, with a keen aesthetic sense of style, combined with hands-on experience. Having cut her teeth in the exclusive design worlds of London, Moscow and Dubai, she is no ‘cushion scatterer’. Following her highly successful international career, Sarah returned to the UK to build her home with her family and now is delighted to have a base nestling within the beautiful English Lakes. Sarah loves nothing more than designing homes her clients love and was delighted when her own home was one of the first selected for Channel 5’s, ‘I Own Britain’s Best Home 2008’, ultimately winning her a place amongst the top contenders for the breathtaking design of her Lake District home.
