Sarah Jane Nielsen

Sarah’s journey and that of Nielsen House is heavily inspired by the natural environments she finds herself in, both in the Lake District in the UK and in Santa Maria del Cami in Mallorca. She is never far from a camera and takes pride in continually sensing and capturing the beauty, splendour and uniqueness of her environment, be it in the city streets of Palma Old Town, on the side of Scafell Pike in the Lakes, or on a lazy Sunday with her two daughters, Beth and Emilia, and her wonderful husband Roger.

Beginning life as a fine artist and printmaker, Sarah’s personal expression bled into the architectural and interior design worlds very early on, through applications of texture, form, colour and pattern. Depth and richness brought about by an intense eye for detail and personality-tailored design solutions quickly won Sarah a following, as well as large projects for the Lake District Country Hotels Group, which you can see detailed here.

Sarah says “Every one of my designs stem from nature. My design-eye is always on, and I constantly aim is to make the most of every possible influence to bring depth and uniqueness to my work. I strive to be the best in my field and exceed expectations, every time.”

Whilst Sarah has had the privilege of working closely with world leaders, heads of state, princes, princesses and their families throughout the Middle East, London, Paris, Moscow, Africa and the USA, each of her clients come to her for the same thing, no matter who they are – their desire to make their home uniquely and unmistakably their own.
