Beautiful Biophilic Interior Design Gilpin Spa Suites

Moist atmospheres are a challenge for any design scheme. At Gilpin they were equally presented inside as outside. The true concept of Biophilic design was encapsulated in each suite. For those that have not come across this terminology yet, Biophilic is the building design trend for 2020. The concept is to increase occupant connectivity to the natural environment through the use of direct nature, indirect nature and space and place conditions.

Internally the consideration of the flooring finishes was paramount. One will not find many lounge areas in this country tiled, that treatment is more at home in the Mediterranean. But here, we selected a “living wood” porcelain tile, soft in appearance and touch to give the look of soft timber floors as the area was considered a “wet” area in the main. The underfloor heating ensures your experience is one of warmth, we have inset a polypropylene woven rug in front of the TV and fire, as you would expect to find. However, it also has the necessary properties to combat anything that is thrown at it.
