The Boathouse
From the beginning, we set to return this charming boathouse back to its former glory. It was a pleasure to be asked to revive and enhance the original details in this unique waterfront dwelling.
We complemented the refurbished floors with soft grey timbers, shutters and neutral linen. Hints of blue can be found in the kitchen and living space complementing the spectacle of the lake, which is framed by the double doors and windows, while a touch of floral red adds an element of warmth in the two bedrooms.
To improve the flow, in collaboration with the architect, we extended the two bedrooms adding an ensuite in each. We also added a shower room and bathroom suite, while the living space saw the addition of a log burning stove and balcony. This rearrangement optimised light and views of the lake in the communal spaces.
The Boathouse was simply but elegantly dressed. We acquired a beautiful Anta rug, used Mulberry and Pierre Frey fabrics and Vincent Sheppard Lloyd Loom. For the lighting and ornaments, we very much went for Windermere style meets New England vernacular. Complemented by the vibrant artworks from local artist, Libby Edmundson.
