Chic Lakeshore Living
When we were asked to redesign this spectacular property, the owners were already very familiar with our work, having known Sarah for ten years. Passionate about the Nielsen House signature style, ‘do what you do’ was our instruction.
The home needed to work for a young family so sociable, practical space was essential. We wanted to create an awe-inspiring contemporary environment that sat harmoniously within the grand, historic exterior.
We carefully unclothed existing features, adding grey tones and vinyls to create the perfect base for a family with young children and dogs. We added zings of colour, layers of exquisite fabrics and a touch of glamour. In one lounge crushed velvet teal, aqua, pink and purple are illuminated by natural light, injecting vibrancy to the space.
The L shaped kitchen, dining and seating area were designed to flow as an entertainment hub created for both dinner parties and family life. As with other areas of the house, the kitchen utilisied a base of grey tones, rich wenge wood and an impactful yellow accent colour to complement the sleek Siematic kitchen. Look out for this kitchen starring in the popular 2006 TV series “Deep Water” where it formed part of the set.
