A Mallorcan Luxury Interior Design Concept for Considered Living
A considered interior vision shaped by landscape, lifestyle, and longevity
This luxury home concept was commissioned by an existing UK client, already living within a Nielsen House designed family home in the Lake District. The brief was clear. To create a Mallorcan interior that reflected the comfort, refinement, and emotional familiarity of their UK residence, while fully embracing the slower, landscape-led lifestyle of the island.
Our clients, like many of those we work with at this level, are not only shaping their homes but also broadening their horizons by balancing established lives in the UK with emerging opportunities abroad. For them, this project represents both a lifestyle investment and a future-facing chapter.
Designing continuity across borders
Just as their Lake District home was designed to feel deeply connected to its surroundings, this Mallorcan concept centres on the same philosophy: alignment between landscape, architecture, and interior experience. The goal was never to replicate their UK home. We wanted to translate its essence, comfort, calm, and considered luxury, into a Mediterranean context.
The result is an interior scheme that feels intuitive and grounded. It allows the family to transition effortlessly between homes while still feeling emotionally anchored in each place.
A personal connection to Mallorca
Following my family’s relocation to Mallorca in 2022, we experienced first-hand the island’s pace of life; its rhythms, and its quiet sense of balance. This informed not only our design thinking, but also our belief in Mallorca as a meaningful long-term lifestyle choice for clients seeking to slow down without compromising on quality or sophistication.
Although now back in the UK, the professional relationships and collaborations formed during that period have evolved into a trusted network of highly skilled local professionals and craftspeople. This enables us to confidently deliver Nielsen House concept living in Mallorca and further afield, with the same level of care and clarity our clients expect.
A home evolving with family life
For this particular client, the timing was significant. With teenagers growing up and family dynamics shifting, the brief focused on refining the home into a more polished, calm, and considered environment, one that supports both family connection and individual retreat.
Our role is to work alongside our clients, translating their aspirations into a tangible interior vision and a coherent lifestyle journey. Always one step at a time.
