Lakeside Luxury
Lakeside Luxury with World Class Interior Design
The remodelling and renovation of an existing Family Residence, including exterior finishing and interior spaces, has been shortlisted for The International Design and Architecture Awards 2025 – UK Luxury Residence category. The project involved updating the home to an award-winning interior design standard for a highly discerning client, with a deep love for interiors. Our goal was to support the client’s transition to a new life stage with spaces that are both sophisticated and personal. This involved modernising, adding comfort, enhancing the lighting scheme, and opening the living spaces to natural light, benefiting from the property’s lakeside position. Achieving an acoustically soft and luxuriously understated elegance was essential, aligning with the homeowners’ personalities and the serene environment.

Crafting a modern lake side retreat

Light, acoustics, and privacy
The key aspect for us was to successfully deliver to our client’s exacting expectations, firstly, the opening up of the property’s living spaces to the exceptional natural light and lake view from as many parts of the home as possible, secondly, with close consideration to acoustic interior design and the subtle dividing up of the open plan spaces, creating sensory warmth, comfort, and privacy in any of spaces. Thirdly, with several homes around the world we wanted this to be their ultimate Lakeland home.

Comfort and elegance in every finish
The scheme for this home exudes softness, light and well being through a unique collection of spaces, lighting, finishing, materials, fabrics, and ornament befitting the homeowners’ expectations. The level of detail in each area of the home is exceptional to even the most discerning eye. I am particularly pleased with the acoustic panels interior design incorporated throughout the property, enhancing both comfort and privacy. The soft grey tones, seen across stone, plaster, timber, and fabrics, create a cohesive look from the kitchen to the bedroom suite.

Sensory Space and a sense of belonging

A harmony with the local landscape
There is nothing unusual about lakeside property owners wanting more of the outside, inside, and this can be achieved to its most advantageous in a considered manner with the use of internal and external finishes as we have here with success and interest. The soft Caulfield Burlington stone flooring inside and out, with large format oak planks internally, soft grey finishing and the accent copper from door couture embraces our in the main grey climate of the Lake District, this palette is all encompassing with layering and depth throughout the home. Also, considering the open plan nature of this property and the quantity of glass required to provide the connection between the home, the Lake and the mountains beyond, each space continues to feel warm and comforting whatever the weather.
